Sokhany has more than 7 years of experiences working on corporate and commercial matters. At a Regional Law Firm, Sokhany advised wide range of clients, either local or foreign, individual or legal entity, on the process, legal requirement and licensing requirement for the operation of business in Cambodia from the opening stage until the closure of the business. Sokhany has practiced her legal skills in various sectors including but not limited to the business operation in telecommunication, power industry, trade and tourism.

Specifically, among other experiences in advising on the general corporate compliance and commercial matters, Sokhany:

• assisted an international transporting company in the corporate secretariat services and the asset transfers for closing business in Cambodia;
• assisted one of the group company operating more than twenty luxury hotels and resorts and serviced suites across Asia, North America, Oceania, and Europe by advising and reviewing the hotel management agreement, service and marketing agreement and other commercial contracts in relation to the operation of hotel and resort in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, Cambodia;
• participated in the Due Diligence process on the companies engaged in general trading of liquefied natural gas products in Cambodia;
• for the local clients, Sokhany assisted a number of small and medium enterprises in (i) drafting and registering the partnership agreement with the relevant ministry in Cambodia and (ii) applying for the registration of business and various license as required for the operation of each business activity;
• provided legal advice on the business license, reviewed and drafted commercial contracts; arrangement; and transactional documents;
• conducted and drafted research on the corporate governance;
• reviewed internal rule and regulation, sale and purchase agreement, internal documents of a private company including its manual, business policy and other template of commercial contract;
• provide commentary noted to the first draft of financial regulation in relations to consumer protection such as the right to privacy, right to information, and other rights;
• assisted government in research, preparing report and draft Prakas on unfair contract terms, Prakas on Investigation Procedures and Formalities, and the assessment regarding the legal framework conditions for attaining the Universal Health coverage.
